Foundation 1 Autumn 1 2026
Hello and welcome to Foundation 1!
We are looking forward to welcoming the children back and hope you have all had a lovely summer break. We also have some new children starting with us in September and we are excited to get to know you all. This half term we are going to be settling into nursery and getting to know our new teachers.
During this half term, our key stories are ‘From Head to Toe’ and ‘Brown Bear Brown Bear’ which are both written by Eric Carle.
We will explore these books and a range of others, encouraging the children to join in with actions and repeated phrases. These books may lead to additional learning opportunities around our bodies, colours and animal names.
In addition, the children will be joining in with singing lots of actions songs and retelling our oral story, ‘Mr Wiggle and Mr Waggle’. We hope your child will perform some of these songs and stories for you at home.
Please ensure that your child’s drink and uniform are clearly labelled to ensure everything can be returned to you. If you have any concerns or questions, please come and see us.
