Year 6 Summer 2 2026

Welcome to the last half term of the year and the last few weeks of your time at Hempshill Hall.  It sure is going to be a busy one!

On the first day, we will be launching our topic – Location, Location, Location.

This topic involves looking at out local area and how it has changed over time.  The residential trip to Walesby on 22^nd – 24^th June will then help us to look at different locations to our own and draw comparisons.  Whilst on the residential, we will also be taking part in many outdoor, team building activities.  We will be covering many geography skills too, including working on our map reading skills. 

There will be many exciting things going on and here are just some of the dates to be aware of:

• PE– this will be on Thursdays.
• Photos – 1^st June
• Sports Day – 10^th June
• Walesby – Monday 22^nd – Wednesday 24^th June
• Production – 13^th and 14^th July
• Summer Fair – 21^st July
• Leavers Assembly – 22^nd July 9:10am
• Last day – Friday 24^th July - there will be a gathering on the astro to send them off at the end of the day.

There will be various other things happening to mark the end of the children’s primary years. Information will be sent out about this once it is all finalised.

We will also have outside providers providing various project and activities such as the GREAT project, maths in the real world and ultimate frisbee.

In PSHE this half term we will be covering SRE and further information will be sent out to you in the coming weeks.

During the hotter weather, please make sure that your child has a water bottle in school.
